Some of the modelling looks a bit too simple, compared to the rest of the scene.
The monitor just looks like a super ellispoid and lacks all the needless styling
real monitors have. The table surface looks like it's never been used, and the
deep groves seem to contradict the perfect shaping of it. There's a subtle
second shadow behind the lamp belying the existence of a second light source, it
would be okay if it wasn't so hard-edged. The bulb of the light looks a bit
flat, might be nice to see some variation in colour of the gas inside it. And I
agree with Bob about the area light, though I didn't notice it until he said it
:).

Anyway, enough criticism :). The spider is gorgeous, and the overall quality of
the scene is very high. The caustics on the glass look great, and the smoke from
the soldering iron looks right IMHO. The time on the clock's a nice touch. Oh,
and I love the concept.

I have a couple of questions:
What are the batteries for? They look too big for the spider and anyway it's
plugged in.
How did you do the paper? It's excellent :)

Keep it up. It's looking good.
